It is a traditional residential neighbourhood that shows its own characteristics in the face of modernity that manifest other areas of the city. It is so called because it was created in honor of the victory of the Army United Restorer in the Battle of Yungay the 20 January 1839, in the War against the Peru-Bolivian Confederation. Its main landmark is the piazza of the same name, where is the Monument to the Roto Chileno, that is a tribute to the chilean people.
